Do you dream of your own Tomica?? In 2007, Tomy organised a children's car drawing exhibition/contest titled "Shaping Your Dreams by Tomica" held at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show of 2007 where five-year-old kids drew their dream cars and future cars, using their imagination as if they were car designers . The theme of the contest was "Getting Dreams into Shapes – The Car that I Dream of" and it drew a rousing 3,530 entries.


The Winners

The three selected drawings by the judges will be made into Tomica models So who were the winners? In loose translation they were described as follows:


The first one selected was a car with a streamlined body, which looks really fast. I really want to drive a car like this. Speed always fascinates men, regardless of their ages.


The second one is a fantastic car, like a car in a fairy tale. It is a car, but it looks as if it is floating in the sea. Although I cannot tell you any more, it is very interesting how this drawing will be actualised into a Tomica.


The third, and last, one is a very amusing car. If I have to describe it in one word, I would say, "Ka-boom!" as if something exploded. It is not a bus, nor a working vehicle, but both a bus and a working vehicle.
